Jewelry

I decided to try my hand at designing and crafting some jewelry. I call it Magpie Fairy Jewelry. Magpies are birds that love to collect odd bits of shiny stuff. My jewelry style is like that. I go from one shiny bit to another and many times I combine lots of them together. I like beads and trinkets and gems and wire. Anything can be combined and used to please my eye.

I've sold quite a few of these sorts of necklaces. These particular rocks are made of hard pumice so they are surprisingly very light. The two large brown beads on the smaller necklace are made from Wooly Mammoth bones. I thought they were very cool!

It is surrounded with trinkets that pleased my mind. The base of it is an abalone shell. I used the pretty part for the back and I added another trinket. I decided it would be nice to have my jewelry look nice on both sides so it could be worn on either side or if it accidentally flips while it is worn it will still look interesting.

I guess I thrive on challenge. I used hot glue and stamps on metal backings to make them. They seemed very popular as selling items, too when I finally got them done. I am a bit surprised and of course gladdened that some folks think they are pretty cool.

The bracelet was wired with all sorts of interesting beads. I love to look at each of them individually. I can stare at a bracelet like this for hours. Obviously, I am easily entertained. Long lines don't bother me if I have something to keep me entertained
